A resource is “a source of supply, support, or aid, especially one that can be readily drawn upon when needed”. Students in the course of their studies often need resources like books, maps and tables. The internet is home to many resources which are freely available. This section provides you access to many of them either directly or providing you a path way to them.
Amongst the many types of resources available are OERs or Open Educational Resources. They are any type of educational materials that are in the public domain or introduced with an open license. The nature of these open materials means that anyone can legally and freely copy, use, adapt and re-share them. OERs range from textbooks to curricula, syllabi, lecture notes, assignments, tests, projects, audio, video and animation. The world famous MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has made available Open Courses and they are available here http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/find-by-topic/
Another great source of free resources is the “Khan Academy” which is a non-profit educational organization. It was created in 2006 by educator Salman Khan with the aim of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. All resources are available for free to anyone around the world.
